Introducing Arjan
My name is Arjan van Gent, born in 1969 and I am living in West-Knollendam. I am married to Monique. I am the best and also the only pigeonfancier of our little town. West-Knollendam is situated between Amsterdam and Alkmaar.
My club is Zaanstreek-Noord and we are also the entry point for all the national races. In our club are also members like the Brugemann Brothers, Jan Kuijzer and many other famous fanciers.
We bought this house in 1996 and immediately I bought my first loft, brand Dumo. I recently built a new loft, because my mom and dad are going to move to an appartment and my breeders are now in my loft as well.
I have specialized on the extreme long distance races. You will find my distances also on this website. I race these races with a small selection of birds. In my new loft I have 18 couples of races, including the yearly birds. So each race I basket approx. 4 birds a race. My aim is to be on the first 10% of the resultlist and after that high percentages of birds in the list.
Pigeonracing is for me a passion and a way to relax myself. My wife and I have other hobbies as well, so it is not pigeonracing all year round.
